Stocking stuffers for coders
Stocking fillers have to be small, cheap and specific, which makes stickers close to the ideal format. They also have a property most gifts do not: a laptop lid is a public object, read at standups and in every video call where someone turns their screen around. That turns a two-euro sticker into something closer to a badge, which is why the obscure ones are worth more than the obvious ones.

Obscure beats obvious
A React logo on a laptop tells you nothing — half the industry writes React. A Flux logo tells you the person has been doing this since at least 2015 and probably has opinions about what happened next.
The value of a laptop sticker is entirely in its specificity. Stocking fillers are the one context where you can safely buy the obscure option, because the budget is low enough that being wrong costs nothing.
Buy several
Stickers are the rare gift where quantity genuinely improves the present. Three or four small ones feels considered in a way that one does not, and it lets you hedge — one safe, one deep cut, one joke.
A note on placement
Nobody puts a sticker on a work laptop they have to hand back. If the person you are buying for is at a company with managed hardware, a sticker may end up on a water bottle or a notebook instead, which is fine and worth knowing before you buy six of them.
